This year's ball was truly magical. Thanks to everyone who attended for not only putting on your most elegant attire but for creating a special evening. There was dancing and dining, time to see old friends and meet new ones. Special thanks goes to our good friend Thomas of The Black Broom who donated the most amazing dragon! Be sure to visit him at 5050 Vineland Ave, N Hollywood, CA 91601. However, most of all we want to congratulate David and Brandy of the Santa Clarita Valley Pagan Network who got engaged at the Ball. We wish you many years of happiness!   To view pictures from this year's ball click here.   Clean the Beach Day and Public Ritual September 17th While the turn out for both these events was small those who did attend participated with a wonderful fullness of heart. We walked along Santa Monica beach and collected the small bits of garbage that can really impact the environment. The best finds being some pieces of a balloon, the remains of cardboard box that had been buried and a small packet of body oil. We kept count of what we found in order to help "Heal the Bay" keep track of what is being washed ashore on our beaches. It was great to participate with other groups including some folks from Yahoo. One of our members was interviewed for a college paper and the event served as both ways to serve the earth by cleaning her up and a chance to do some community work. After cleaning the beach a ritual was held in the public park that borders Santa Monica beach. Given the timing of the event, the ritual focused on sending supportive energies to those whom where effected by the resent hurricanes. The ritual was the result of cooperative work among the various groups of our council and the energies raised where really something very special.
